Ο Ντέιβιντ Μπέκαμ που σήμερα (02/05) γίνεται 40 ετών, κατάφερε να κάνει έναν  πλανήτη να περιστρέφεται γύρω από το όνομά του. Κι εκτός από τα αμύθητα πλούτη του και τις εκατοντάδες διακρίσεις του, τους δεκάδες τίτλους με τη Μάντσεστερ Γιουνάιτεντ – κυρίως – αλλά και τις άλλες τεράστιες ομάδες που αγωνίστηκε, κατάφερε να «χτίσει» μια εικόνα που παραμένει αναλλοίωτη στο χρόνο και είναι συνώνυμο της επιτυχίας στον κόσμο τόσο του αθλητισμού όσο και του star system!

 

«Το καλύτερο γκολ της καριέρας μου είναι το γκολ κόντρα στην Ελλάδα». Η Ελλάδα είναι πρωταγωνίστρια στις αναμνήσεις του Μπεκς (θετικές για εκείνον, αρνητικές για εμάς) και εμείς με αφορμή τα 40αστά γενέθλια του Ντέιβιντ Μπέκαμ θυμόμαστε εκείνη την ημέρα.

 

Για μεγάλη νίκη πηγαίναμε, σε ισοπαλία καταλήξαμε. Αλλά με τι τρόπο... Μαγικό! Η απευθείας εκτέλεση φάουλ του Μπέκαμ στις καθυστερήσεις δίνει στην Αγγλία το εισιτήριο για το Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο του 2002 και τα συναισθήματα ξεχειλίζουν.
